Billed as the biggest African concert in Europe, Africa Unplugged Concert 2014 lived up to expectation as the iconic O2 Brixton Academy throbbed to the squeals of the capacity packed audience. Headliners Tiwa Savage, Davido and Tanzanian star Diamondz produced great performances. The event which was anchored by the duo of DJ Abass and Sporah Njau also featured UK acts Abdulala, Shanky, D3 Dancers and CEO Dancers. The Manchester edition will be held on Sunday 21st at The Ritz. The official press conference for the second edition of Africa Unplugged Music Festival was held yesterday at Vox Africa Tv Studios, London. The BFI screening of FINDING FELA which was held last thursday was warmly received by the full capacity audience in attendance. The Q&A session was anchored by Fela's manager and friend Rikki Stein and panelists included Fela's daughter Salewa, Femi Kuti's son Made, Yeni Kuti's daughter Rolari and former Egypt 80 band member and Afrobeat maestro Dele Sosimi. DADDY SHOWKEY headlines the NIGERIAN CORNER at the Notting Hill Carnival 2014 (PHOTOS)

Thousands of Nigerians defied a very rainy London monday to attend the Nigerian Corner at the Notting Hill Carnival 2014. The event which was headlined by dancehall legend Daddy Showkey was hosted by the trio of Dj Abass, broadcaster Yaw of Wazobia Fm and comedian Mc Abbey. Special guests at this years' event include veteran broadcaster Bisi Olatilo, Dayo D1 Adeneye, Hip TV's Ayo Animashaun, ace video director Moe Musa, Femi Amusan (BenTv), Shope Olajide, Alariwo of Africa and many more. Event co-producer Ayo Shonaiya of RMG said "This years attendance defied all odds due to the torrential rain fall but the Nigerian spirit shone through as thousands came out". G.I Roadshow's Andrew Okocha also gave kudos to all performing acts "They were awesome". There were live performances by UK Nigerian pop likes like Ada Snoop, Sona, Afrika, Dizzy VC, Abdul, Jaycee, D-Soul, Big Tobs and Ejyki. The countdown is on to the 2014 edition of the Nigerian Corner at the Notting Hill Carnival. The city of London last friday hosted the Nigerian Centenary Awards UK celebrating and honouring 100 outstanding Nigerians in the United Kingdom.
