The 2014 All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, brought together some of the best talents from the five regions of the continent to the 2014 main award ceremony held on Saturday, December 27, at the Grand Ballroom, Oriental Hotel, Lagos Nigeria. The event which was hosted by Nigeria's 2Face Idibia and Togo’s bilingual radio and TV personality, Maryse Acotie witnessed awards picked up in 31 categories by Africa's best musical acts.

The London gala premiere of Michael Ibiayo's URBAN RHYTHM was held last friday at the Lighthouse venue in Camberwell, London. The evet which was hosted by Dj Abass featured a red carpet that buzzed all night and was 'glammed' up by the cast and crew, invited celebs and industry personalities. Urban Rhythm is an Afrobeats movie shot in the UK telling the story some musicians (most of whom played themselves) and their road to stardom. The movie starred Lateef Lovejoy, Material, Maydaz, Taiya Soul, Yvonne Hays, Deejay Gabe, Bayoz Musik, Zeeza Sadiq and a host of other. Thousands of Nigerians defied a very rainy London monday to attend the Nigerian Corner at the Notting Hill Carnival 2014. The event which was headlined by dancehall legend Daddy Showkey was hosted by the trio of Dj Abass, broadcaster Yaw of Wazobia Fm and comedian Mc Abbey. Special guests at this years' event include veteran broadcaster Bisi Olatilo, Dayo D1 Adeneye, Hip TV's Ayo Animashaun, ace video director Moe Musa, Femi Amusan (BenTv), Shope Olajide, Alariwo of Africa and many more. Event co-producer Ayo Shonaiya of RMG said "This years attendance defied all odds due to the torrential rain fall but the Nigerian spirit shone through as thousands came out". G.I Roadshow's Andrew Okocha also gave kudos to all performing acts "They were awesome". There were live performances by UK Nigerian pop likes like Ada Snoop, Sona, Afrika, Dizzy VC, Abdul, Jaycee, D-Soul, Big Tobs and Ejyki.
